Another nice morning here, but we had to get into Marshall as early as we could this morning to have the truck looked at. The check engine light had come on but the gauges didn't show anything our of the ordinary.
I met a very helpful service writer who said he would get it checked out as soon as he could. About an hour later, he came in and told me that the truck needed an EGR (exhaust gas regeneration) sensor replaced and that they didn't have one in stock. He also found another couple of service issues that they could work on but I would have to pay for these repairs. We made an appointment to have the sensor shipped to our selling dealer in Tomball and to have the work done while we wait there on the Monday after we get back to Spring.
They did the needed service but when we were ready to leave, they told me that I would have to take the truck for a long ride on a freeway to cause a regeneration. Bottom line is, we spent most of the day in Marshall, once we went to the grocery store. Other than getting the truck serviced and buying groceries, it was a wasted day. At least I didn't have to take off work and be docked pay to get this done.
So long.
