We woke early this morning to get ready to leave with the group at 8 o'clock so that we could convoy back to Goshen. Most of them had left when we pulled out at 7:45 and we never hooked up with them. It was a great day for traveling, but kind of chilly when we first went outside. It was in the upper 50's this morning and never got above 65 during the day. It was cloudy and I had heard raindrops falling during the night but it didn't rain on us on the highway.
We made our customary couple of stops, the first for a breakfast sandwich and coffee but the second was at a travel plaza along the Ohio toll road. This toll road is very interesting to me because there are travel or service plaza every 30-40 miles and it is not necessary to exit the toll road. They are very easy off and on and offer a great way to make a pit stop.
I had noticed a Blue Beacon truck and trailer wash in Ohio and we stopped off and got the truck and trailer washed. We also had them spray the Rain-X treatment on both and it made a lot of difference. Both the truck and trailer looked like they have been washed and waxed and it cost about $50 for hand wash. In my opinion, it is well worth the money. I will use them every time I need a wash.
We made it into the fairground about 3:30 and took about an hour to get set up. We were greeted by our many friends that are here already and we are looking forward to more arriving tomorrow and Tuesday. After getting set up, we were invited to go out with the group to supper to Columbo's restaurant in Elkhart. What began as 3 people going out to eat turned into about 40 friends going and overwhelming the restaurant! It took a long time for all of us to get fed, but it was very good and we all had a good time visiting with old and new friends. Stella and I have enough pizza left over to eat at least two more meals. Next time you're up this way, go by this restaurant. You'll love it!
So long.
