Unseasonal hot weather repeated today, although it wasn't as hot today as yesterday. The weather people have said that yesterday's storm was caused by the hot weather, which incidentally, was the hottest day in 80 years here. The high today was only about 85, which is considerable cooler than Texas but still very warm.
We didn't do too much today. About nine rigs pulled out today, possibly because of yesterday's storm. I noticed more damage to some of the trailers here, a skylight that was covered with a blue tarp and some more bent awning arms. One man across the circle from us had to actually saw the arms of his awning to get it to fold up. Neither Ted nor I understood what he was doing, but it worked because he got the awning down and they soon left.
Ted and Donna's family came back out here around 4 o'clock and we had a very nice meal with them. Donna made Cincinatti chili over spaghetti that was pretty good. The chili was much thinner than what we are accustomed to and was covered with onions and cheese and actually tasted pretty good but I'm not giving up on my Wolf-brand chili and especially Stella's homemade chili that I love. We also had hot dogs and coneys, and there were two cakes for dessert as well as ice cream, so we all got filled up.
The grandkids had a good time, playing baseball with the other kids and both caught several blue gills in the lake. They seemed to have a good time and we finished the night up with a nice campfire and roasting marshmallows over the open fire. We could hear the boom of fireworks in the distance but couldn't see any going off. There are several small towns in the area and they probably had their firework displays tonight.
I have been staying up so late up here. I've been up until 11-11:30 several nights and one night we were out until almost midnight!
Think I'm gonna take a nap!
So long.
